Service Description

This workshop has been approved by the NJBPTE for 18 CEs (#2402-44) This workshop delves into the dynamic interplay between the autonomic nervous system, emotional well-being, and overall health through the lens of Polyvagal Theory. Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, Polyvagal Theory offers insights into the intricate connections between the nervous system, emotional regulation, behavior, and bodily functions for a whole-person framework for well-being. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the three neural circuits of the autonomic nervous system and their impact on stress responses, social engagement, and overall physiological well-being. Participants will explore evidence-based techniques designed to modulate the autonomic nervous system, enhance emotional resilience, and foster a sense of well-being. Various mind-body interventions, such as mindfulness practices, breathwork, yoga, and somatic awareness, will be explored, providing participants with a diverse toolkit to support their clients in achieving optimal health. Objectives: By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to: 1. Understand the fundamentals of polyvagal theory. 2. Apply mind-body interventions for emotional regulation. 3. Integrate polyvagal theory into clinical practice. 4. Foster holistic health and wellness through collaborative approaches. *Prior to the workshop, participants will be required to independently read and appraise scientific articles that will be the basis for discussion throughout the workshop.
