Purpose/Mission: To unite YogiAnatomy's evidence-based yoga education with Cuba's vibrant movement and therapy communities, fostering a collaborative exchange that empowers practitioners through accessible, integrative learning experiences in yoga, breath work, meditation, and musculoskeletal health.
Education: The excursion will include historical and cultural tours and daily engagement with the Cuban people. The workshop component will be approved for 12 CEs.
Course Title: Mindful Movement and Yoga for Health and Wellness: A Cultural Exchange with Cuban Physical Therapists and Movement Experts
This unique excursion offers rehabilitation professionals the opportunity to 1) deepen their understanding of how yogic principles can support diverse populations, 2) explore core-centric movement principles, and 3) learn about injury prevention in dance and yoga. Participants will engage in lectures, hands-on labs, and cultural activities, gaining insights into the intersection of yoga, mindfulness, physical therapy, and Cuban movement traditions, including dance. The 12 hours of continuing education, spread over five days, provides an exploration of yoga and the role of rehabilitation professionals in promoting health and wellness and adapting practices for underserved communities.

Educational Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the challenges and strategies for implementing movement and injury prevention education in underserved populations.
2. Apply core-centric movement principles, incorporating concepts of strength, flexibility, diaphragmatic function, and chakra theory into rehabilitation and movement education.
3. Identify common injuries associated with dance and yoga and implement preventive strategies in movement instruction.
4. Integrate mindfulness techniques and cultural insights gained from the Cuban experience into professional practice to enhance patient/client care and teaching methods.
